Here are a few examples of the types of work undertaken by B&M Clark Builders.
If you would like to discuss some work that you may need doing, then please use the contact us page or call us on 023 92 663643.
FARLEY MOUNT OBOLISK
The obelisk was originally built by the landowner of the time to commemorate his racing horse. There is a cast iron plaque fixed to the monument detailing this. The works involved removing all of the cement render which was breaking away from the brickwork construction. The outside skin of brickwork was removed due to its condition and rebuilt using a more appropriate brick. The Obelisk was then re-rendered using a special lime mortar imported from the continent.
The garden on the left was re-developed to create additional parking space as can be seen on the right. Work involved construction of new retaining wall.
STAUNTON COUNTRY PARK - VINERY
This Victorian Vinery had sliding sash windows to the roof and top hung opening lights to the front. All the windows had pockets of decay or were beyond repair. Most of them were screwed shut or seized shut. The main rafters were sound but for a few pockets of rot. Our task was to repair or replace like for like to half of the conservatory. Leaving the windows in working order
We built an extension to the historic cottage to blend in with its character. The extension was air dried oak timber framed and thatched. It also included a new fireplace and chimney.
